WE ROUTE EACH OTHER FROM EPOCH TO EPOCH.
THE BIRD
“Bird” is a series of photographs in the style of romantic techno-noir. Deconstructed leather garments reveal feathers—those of an angel, a bird, a messenger, a thinking human. The contrast between soft feathers and raw leather embodies a state of transformation, a struggle between artificiality and nature, control and freedom.
Romantic techno-noir merges neon-lit dystopian aesthetics with deep emotional undertones, where introspection and sensuality take precedence over pure cybernetic detachment. The deconstructed leather symbolizes the breaking of traditional forms, an unraveling of materiality—perhaps even a metaphor for shedding a mask or revealing one’s true essence. The feathers, emerging through the worn fabric, suggest something organic pushing through the synthetic, evoking the image of a messenger torn between worlds: angelic and mechanical, ethereal and industrial.

The Portrait of a Musician
This is a series of portraits where I meet with artists, musicians, and actors, capturing them in entirely different circumstances to project their outlands, sentiments, strengths.
In this case, it is TimeOff, a musician from Ukraine living in London, who writes music in both Ukrainian and English with alacrity to perform his own concerts. He loves people, that’s a big thing we stand for.
I experience music as if it were a film. With TimeOff and his portraits of musical affinity, ups are invited to follow our modern talk through the camera.

ThThe
HVALUR
When working with a soldier who had endured three years of war, I realized the importance of focusing on his needs and state of mind after such a prolonged and traumatic experience. This was not merely a conversation—it was an exploration aimed at helping him process and transform what he had been through. To achieve this, I needed to find symbols and images that would reflect his path toward healing.
The “TABULA RASA” series involved the idea of a blank slate, as a metaphor for a new beginning. We climbed to the mountain's peak, carrying with us blank sheets of paper in various formats. There, on the summit, using the power of the wind and the presence of the ocean, I covered the soldier’s bare body with these sheets, creating intuitive forms that reflected his inner experiences and the events he had recounted in our interview. Each sheet was a symbol of possibility, a potential new script for his life. This was a process of "cleansing"—creating a space where the soldier could once again become a "blank slate," free from past traumas and labels. This is why the series was titled "Tabula Rasa of a Blank Slate."

Based on the theory of "tabula rasa," we wear paper, air, and sand, hiding our wartime experiences within shapes and textures, feeling as if we were nothing but the wind.
I used these elements to capture the essence of living through times of conflict, hiding our past in folds and layers, much like memories buried in the subconscious. As Jean-Jacques Rousseau once said, "Man is born free, and everywhere he is in chains." Through this photoshoot, I sought to express how we carry the weight of history in our very being, feeling at times like nothing more than sand—shifting, moving, but ever-present.
The WHALE/HVALUR perfume
symbolizes breathing and release. In the context of our interaction, the whale represented the ability to "exhale" the war—letting go of all the accumulated stress, tension, and pain through the blowhole, leaving them behind. It was a metaphor for purification and liberation from the experience of war.
The whale, dwelling in the ocean's depths, also symbolized a transition from darkness, from the depths of the subconscious, to something new and fresh, to freedom and the ability to inhale pure air. This breathing was meant to be the first step towards returning to himself.
I wanted to bring the entire idea to life in the form of a perfume bottle, with the liquid inside symbolizing the man himself and his process of becoming. The bottle features two pumps, representing the union of two individuals—each conscious and self-sufficient. This design allows the fragrances to be used separately or blended together, creating a unique composition that reflects the interaction and interpenetration of two independent entities.
“One day I woke up, and the lines on my palms had changed.
I knew my course had transformed.
Oh Earth, my Earth,
I am a whale.
I need a breathing valve, a huge blowhole to exhale through the war that should have been eradicated, overcome a long time ago.
And now I have to take my time they said…
and it felt like I had to take an hourglass covered in golden thorns,
like the domes of Kyiv's churches, spikes of Ukrainian borders,
and walk beside you.”
The creation of the film "Khvalyur" in the style of magical realism was inspired by the desire to convey the feelings of a soldier returning to life in a new environment. I wanted to show how he needs the forces of nature—such as a volcanic eruption or a crystallized stone on the ocean shore—to experience these metamorphoses, immersing himself in the processes of transformation and reincarnation to shed the weight of the past.
The original story, script, and creative direction belong to Anna Tymofieieva, and were generated using the Runway AI program.
"MOTHER'S MILK" PERFORMANCE”
At the temple, a young Ukrainian man takes a coconut and a hunting knife out of his military backpack. Rejecting reality, he seizes a utopian fantasy that teeters on the brink of recklessness, transforming it into a belief in possible salvation and a denial of reality. The desire to fall into escapism, persistent childishness, and forbidden truths—all of this is depicted in the performance.

The Portrait of a Musician
It was a rainy evening in London when I met with a Ukrainian musician Ivan to produce a portrait of TimeOff.

“TAKE YOUR TIME THEY SAID” ART INSTALLATION
An art installation inspired by personal experiences of war, living away from home, and immersing in a carefree environment that evokes mixed, sand-like emotions, thorny feelings, and the need to figure out what to do next.

SYNESTHESIA
One day, I met a Ukrainian musician, and an idea came to me—to create an album that would reveal the artist's creative process and journey from the science of synesthesia. What if, by being close to him, could reflect on everything he does through the scents of perfumes, vintage beads from shops in Cambridge, and anything else I had at hand, and create a whole story in words, forms, music, and fragrances about this artist?
In the “Synesthesia” photo album, I spent several days with a musician in different locations, diving deep into his creative process to capture the way he crafts poetry. I responded to his words with my own, reflecting on his verses and writing my own poems in return. In the studio, I also photographed a perfume that I linked to this photoshoot, aiming to evoke the sensations that synesthetes experience. Vintage treasures from Cambridge, like golden bell necklaces, added a melodic touch to the narrative, ringing out in harmony with the musician’s strumming, the true protagonist of this project.
